Platform activities

In addition to pursuing extensive research and teaching, the WCH also functions as a platform. This means that it unites different stakeholders from civil society, politics, science and the economy. It supports dialog, moderates possible conflicts of objectives, and inspires knowledge transfer and (science) communication in general. Here, the focus is on creating overall awareness and imparting information about the biobased economy, bioeconomic products and research, as well as promoting discussions on special products and aspects of the bioeconomy. Various media, both analog as well as digital, numerous events and inter- and transdisciplinary projects with other institutes and communicators constitute the basis for the activities of the research alliance. Concept projects require good communication, and communication cannot be a one-sided affair. It is the key to the WCH’s success – as every party benefits from a lively exchange.
